We say goodbye to the huge sunspot region AR1944 as it round the edge of the solar disc. It has provided as with some stunning views and the activity from it caused a great auroral show in the Northern latitudes. I managed one last grab of the region before the weather has turned for the worst. It was taken in my 6" reflector using Baader ND3.8 solar film and a stack of about a dozen individual frames. |

I captured these white light shots of the Sun with AR1944 proudly on display on the 6th of January 2014. I used a full aperture Baader Solar photographic film ND3.8(strictly not for visual use) on my 150mm reflector shot with my Canon 450D. It is a stack of 54 single exposures to build up the detail.
